The Czech Republic is a Central European country which has been inhabited since the earliest days of human settlement in Europe. In around 870 AD, Prague Castle was built atop a hill overlooking the Vltava river. Prague's main theatre is the National Theatre which was built in the late nineteenth century. Opera and ballet are performed here as well as at the Stavovske divadlo (Theatre of the Estates) and the Statni opera praha (State Opera House). There are regular classical concerts and recitals held in a variety of venues from the National Museum and the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House, to the Dvorak Hall of the Rudolfinum and the halls of the Lichtenstein Palace.
Churches also play a prominent role in bringing music to the people with frequent recitals at lunchtime and in the evenings. I’ve been to Prague many times and I always enjoy it there. The small streets and the mystic environment are like magnet to me. What I enjoy the most in this city is the night life, the Prague music clubs are all so cozy and have such a nice environment and decoration and make you want to stay long. If any of you want to try I leave you here a nice site with good clubs to go.

One of the deepest joys in life is to discover a great new city, and Prague is one for me. My first day there seemed as rich as a week's vacation, staying at one of the nice Prague hotels and having dinner past midnight and walking through rainy streets crowded with young people, hearing Irish and British and French and German and American voices as well as Czech. This place has a New York-like energy, probably more so than Chicago or London, but the energy takes place within a labyrinth of centuries-old narrow Gothic streets, with more shops on them than I've ever seen anywhere. There's a perfumerie on every block, it seems, and the density of cafes, beer pubs, restaurants, and sweet shops -- all of them overlapping in function -- far exceeds that.
